The Wheelright is a precision toy wheel maker. With your drill press, the Wheelright, and scraps of wood from your workshop, you can make quality toy wheels. You can save money if you are now buying wheels, or save time if you are making your wheels without the Wheelright. With a Wheelright, it only takes about one minute to make a wheel. Your toys will look much better with wheels made from the same kind of wood as the toy.

The Wheelright consists of a cutter body, which is chucked in the drill press, a cutter, and a 1/4" guide pin. (For best results, cutters should be honed before use.) The cutter is mounted in the cutter body and held in place with set screws.

The cutter can be adjusted in or out for different sizes of wheels. To make wheels and yo-yo halves, you first drill a 1/4" hole in the wood, or use your drill bit, unless you are using the rosette cutter. Then, with the Wheelright, cut halfway through the wood, turn the wood over, and cut until the wheel is loose. Your drill press must have a 1/2" chuck and at least 1/2 HP.
